This memorial website was created in the loving memory of our beloved son, Rocky Allan Lindley who was born in Freeport, Texas on August 28, 1983 and passed away on October 19, 2007 at the young age of 24. We will remember him forever.

Rocky was an outstanding baseball player, a young man with natural ability. He loved to hunt and fish, that was his passion.  He loved his family, they were his #1 priority in his life and was always there for his friends.  He wasn't too bad with the ladies and always treated them with respect.  When he passed away  he had not found the love of his life yet.  Rocky and his parents were very close, he used to tease us and tell us he loved us and would never move out, he had to stick around to take care of us.  I think it was his mom's cooking and his dad's beer that kept him at home.  Rocky and his dad were best friends in addition to being father and son.

Rocky never gave up on life and lived his life to the fullest.  He started having seizures when he was 17 years old and no one could ever tell us why.  When I look at the picture of him swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, I see his courage.  He loved to jump off the boat into the water out in the Gulf of Mexico.  I would always ask him to please not jump in the water but he would just smile and tell me how he  loved going out on the boat fishing and jumping into the water to cool off and swim with the fish.  Rocky always said he would not live his life in a box due to his seizures and he didn't.  All I can say is Rocky lived his life the way he wanted and I  thank God every day for giving him courage. 

He loved his family and friends with all his heart.  Rocky was one of those people you met and you just knew you would always remember him.

Rocky will always be forever in our hearts along with the wonderful memories of our beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend.

Please light a candle for Rocky before leaving his site. We are very appreciative of all who visit Rocky and light candles in his memory with warm thoughts of him and those beautiful messages warm our hearts.

Rocky's Sister Cari, they were so close that Rocky use to call her "Mama Cari". Cari is Rocky's beautiful neice Kayse's mom, so it was just fitting that Rocky and Kayse were very close.

Rocky loved to jump off the boat into the Gulf of Mexico.

THE CORD

We are connected, my child and I, by an invisible cord not seen by the eye. It's not like the cord that connects us 'til birth, this cord can't be seen by any one on earth.  This cord does it's work right from the start, it binds us together, attached to my heart.  I know that it's there though no one can see, an invisible cord from my child to me.  The strength of this cord is hard to describe, it can't be destroyed, it can't be denied.  It's stronger than any cord man could create, it withstands, the test, it can hold any weight.  And though you are gone, though your not here with me, the cord is still there but no one can see.  It pulls at my heart, I am bruised-I am sore, but this cord is my lifeline as never before.  I am thankful that God connects us this way, a mother and child, death can't take it away!  Deeply loved and sadly missed by Mom.
